YMCA Jr. Camp Adventure

Who
Jr. Camp Adventure is open to boys and girls entering Kindergarten through Grade 2 (ages 5-8).

What
YMCA Jr. Camp Adventure provides children safe and fun-filled summer programming. Our campers are provided with a variety of opportunities to participate in a range of individual and group activities. We emphasize character development, as well as the YMCA Core Values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.  Please watch for more information on weekly themes, special events, and field trips.

Where
Jr. Campers spend their day at the YMCA, 22 Tompkins St., Cortland.  The children will enjoy use of the pool, gymnasium and playground facilities. Visits to local parks, short walking trips and weekly field trips will also be featured.

When
Your summer childcare worries stop here!  Jr. Camp Adventure begins June 26th and ends August 29th. You may register for one week or all 10 weeks.

 

Camp Information

Staff
Jr. Camp Adventure is led by a dedicated and enthusiastic staff.  Our staff receives preparation and training, in camp policies and procedures, safety and emergency protocols, child abuse recognition and prevention, CPR/first aid, and age-appropriate program planning and implementation.  Our Jr. Camp counselors are looking forward to caring for your little camper in a nurturing, safe and enjoyable environment.   

Camp Hours
Camp Operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Drop-off is between 7:30 and 8:30 at the YMCA
Pick-up is between 4:30 and 5:30 at the YMCA.

Lunch and Snacks
Children attending Jr. Camp Adventure are asked to bring a healthy bagged lunch each day. A light morning and afternoon snack is provided.

Policies and Procedures
Camp Policies and Procedures are explained in the Parent Handbook which is provided upon registration.  Parents and campers are urged to carefully review these guidelines prior to registering for camp.

Health and Safety
Jr. Camps Adventure is licensed by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services and complies with all rules and regulations mandated by OCFS.  As a licensed provider, the YMCA accepts third party payment through the Department of Social Services.

Cost to Attend
Last Chance Special: $105/week! A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for each week reserved prior to June 13th. Payment in full   must be made by Friday noon the week before camp begins.

Field Trips: Most Field Trips require an additional fee
Financial Assistance: The YMCA does not exclude any child based on inability to pay. Scholarship applications are available at the YMCA.  Limited funding is available.
